Hats for Hurricane Harvey Relief

Jonesboro students and staff wore hats to school on Friday, September 1.  The "Hat Day" was a fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey victims.  Eighth grader and Beta Club member, Marlee Smith, had the idea of the school contributing to the victims.  A suggested donation of $1 was given to wear a hat to school that day.  The students raised $260.  The money was donated to the American Red Cross through Walmart's donation link.  By donating through Walmart, the donation was matched twice its value.  Therefore, Walmart will be donating $520, making the total contribution from Jonesboro School's fundraiser $780.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
